New Post, Finally!

Hello, I haven't posted for a long time and had given up on Ummm... Blog!. But, now I have changed my mind and come back to blogging for the Ummm... Blog!. So, here it is! A new game I've recently started playing is Dungeon Explorer for the PSP. Quite an interesting game, since I haven't really played an RPG to the fullest for quite a while now. The graphics are pretty good for the PSP. What can you expect on a PSP? Better graphics than a Dreamcast, but lesser than a PlayStation 2. There are special graphical effects for most Job Arts attacks and what not. There is a variety of monsters, but until you progress deeper into the game, you will have to unfortunately deal with snails for a while. Besides the snails, there are these bony rat things that run up to you and bite you to death. When first starting the game, most of the time, you will be attacked by a group of snails, most likely 5 or 6 at a time. If you picked a ranged class like Archer, you will be able to take them out from a far. Actually, I guess it doesn't really matter since picking a warrior will allow you to slaughter snails at such high speeds, it will be nothing. Anyways, back to the graphics. The monsters have great detail on them, but the characters do not. The monsters clothing, faces and the way they move is very well designed. The characters look like they are still in 3D model mode. Their faces do not move at anytime when they're speaking, but their hands do. Controls are simple, variety of things you can do without opening the main menu. Like setting item shortcuts, using a TON of special attacks with only combination between three buttons. Game play is good, but can seem to get a bit tedious. Dungeon Explorer is more of a hack and slash when fighting monsters, considering you eventually only get 1 experience point for every 2 monsters killed or sometimes even 3. The story is quite simple and doesn't really matter. The point is you kill monsters, level up, go back to king and repeat this process. The character's stat points automatically go up and 2 addition stat points are given, which can be used to increase any stat of your choosing. So far, there are no character guides for this game, which is quite sad. But, it is pretty obvious as to why there isn't any. Music? The most awful music you will hear in your life. The dungeon music is all the same, boss music is the same for every boss and the main town music will really start killing you after a few minutes. Luckily, the game has a built in "gramophone", which allows you to turn down Background music or mute it. Nice game, bad reviews, no videos on You Tube, no character guides. Yep. I'm done.
